INOX FOIL Stainless steel foil for quenching

TREATMENT:

AISI 321, only 0.05 mm thick stainless foil, used to protect cured components in air furnace. It wraps the dies up like a paper sheet and it protects them from every kind of contamination.

INSTRUCTION FOR USE:

During the operations of air heat treatment it is easy to obtain undesired effect such as the decarburization and the oxidation of hardened steels. This can be avoided wrapping cured components with Inox Foil.
The treated piece must be carefully and almost airtightly wrapped up in the alloy sheet. Before the quenching operations, both in air and oil and water, it is necessary to break the Inox Foil wrapping, before the immersion.
Once the quenched component reaches the room temperature, the tempering operation can be started following the indications of the steel producer.
